Galentine's Day @ Muse

This Valentine's Day, as ever, I was single so my friend and I decided to have our own celebrations; a 'Galentine's Day' of sorts. I mean, why not?!

We've both been wanting to attend a local-ish restaurant for some time now after seeing it on Instagram & so we booked a table for their Valentine's Day offer. I personally think that this was such a good deal and one that was too good to be missed. The offer was £20 for 2 courses of £25 for 3 courses from an extensive menu. Set menus, I find, can usually be quite limited but this was really inclusive with 6 options for starters!

For our starter. we decided to share two between us (we couldn't decide on one each as per usual). We opted for the selection of Gyozas (Duck, Chicken & Vegetable) served with a soy and sweet chilli sauce and the Pulled Pork Arancini Balls served with a soy sauce. Both starters were amazing - I thoroughly enjoyed them. The Gyozas in particular were gorgeous - the Duck Gyoza with the sweet Soy sauce was divine! I would definitely recommend both of these dishes.

For my main, I opted for the Duck Leg in Orange and Plum Sauce served with noodles. I loved the duck. It was really fresh and the sauce was amazing. It was also a really good portion size as you got a lot of meat on the leg. However, the noodles were slightly dry and the sauce on the leg was quite sticky so it didn't flavour the noodles. Other than that, the dish was lovely. I also loved the presentation!

My friend opted for the Beef Sticky Rice Bowl. This was such a good portion size as you received a full bowl of sticky rice and a bowl of the beef, soy sauce and veg. My friend really enjoyed this dish.

For dessert, I opted for the Churros with Chocolate Orange Ice Cream. Firstly, let's talk about the ice cream. Wow. This was out of this world. It was chocolate flavoured with chunks of chocolate orange and it was unreal. I haven't ever had this flavour ice cream before and it was a creative alternative to the usual flavours available. The churros were also really nice and had lots of sugar on! I have to admit that I've had slightly nicer so they weren't my absolute favourite I've had but I still really enjoyed them.

My friend opted for the Honeycomb Cheesecake. We saw this delivered to another table earlier in the evening and it looked incredible so she'd made her mind up pre-starter that would definitely be her choice! I loved the presentation of this - it was really eye-catching. This dish is definitely one to try if you visit!

No date night is complete without cocktails! Muse had an offer of 2 for £10 cocktails which was really good so we opted for a Pornstar Martini each which we loved!

I really enjoyed my time at Muse. The food, drinks and service were all great and I loved the decor. It was a chilled but nice atmosphere and I'll definitely be returning.
