Dazzling Cafe

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting one of the newest dessert spots in Manchester, Dazzling Cafe. Located on Mosley Street in central Manchester, this cafe is in the prime part of town - just a few minutes walk from Piccadilly Gardens.

This Taiwanese chain is renowned for its highly 'Instagrammable' cafes and food, located worldwide. However, Manchester is the first of many cafes in Europe, which is set to expand its European market throughout the next few years. Owned by friends Jim, Nicholas and Violet, this cafe is the perfect addition to the Manchester cafe-restaurant scene.

We began by trying a variety of drinks. I'll admit, I'm fairly boring when it comes to non-alcoholic drinks; I'm not very adventurous and I opt for the same drink each time (a Diet Coke or a standard English Breakfast Tea). Luckily, neither were on the menu meaning that I had to broaden my horizons and try something new!

I chose the Ice Pomelo Tea with Peach (pictured right) which was amazing. The addition of freshly chopped peaches added to the refreshing flavour of the tea.

My Mum opted for the Dazzling Pink Tea (pictured left) which was out of this world. It arrived with the tea and syrup separated but tasted even better when stirred. I particularly loved the presentation of this drink. Anyone who knows me will know that good presentation wins me over every time so I was definitely won over here!

Jim then brought over the Tropical Fruit Tea; one of their 'best sellers' which can be served iced or hot. We tried the iced version which was amazing. It was so sweet due the fruity flavours. Again, I loved the addition of fresh fruit.

I've never tried a fruit tea before but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. Next time I will definitely try this drink hot!

Dazzling Cafe also serve a selection of coffees. My Mum chose the cappuccino which she said was delicious. The presentation was also really cute!

There were sooo many amazing options to choose from: from pastas, to pizzas, to salads.

We shared the Duck & Pesto pizza between us which was cooked to perfection. It is no exaggeration when I say that this is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Being part Italian & a foodie, I've had my fair share of pizzas over the years...

I wasn't too sure about the combination of the duck and pesto at first as I'd never tried it but it was heaven on earth. I wish I'd discovered it sooner.

The pizza was a standard size and could easily be eaten by one person but we wanted to save room for dessert!

Speaking of dessert...

I opted for the Hazelnut and Chocolate Honey Toast for dessert.

Wow, just wow. I don't even know where to begin. The portion, the presentation, the dessert itself? Incredible.

Firstly, let's talk about the presentation. I don't think it could be much better if I'm honest.
The personalised plate is such a nice touch and makes it unique to its other competitors. It also adds a spot of consistency between all of the chains worldwide as all the Dazzling Cafes use this beautiful, personalised tableware.

The dessert tasted amazing. You're probably thinking - what is even in it? The top layer is a mixture of cream and ice cream with sprinkled hazelnuts on top. Once you remove the ice cream layers, there are 12 cubes of honey toast which are filled with nutella. There are also two outer layers of honey toast sealing the cubes inside. The dessert is finished with a selection of strawberries and chocolate sauce. Clearly this was dreamy.

I've never tasted anything quite like it, in a good way. I can't believe I've gone 22 years without ever tasting honey toast. Trust me, I won't be going another 22 without!

The portions were huge. I would definitely recommend splitting a dessert between 2-3 people (depending on how hungry you are) as it was far too much for one person. I had eyes bigger than my belly though, as per usual.

My Mum decided on the French Toast with Vanilla Ice Cream. This again came with a selection of 'cubes' of honey toast, ice cream with a pistachio topping and syrup.

Although this looks much smaller than the Hazelnut Honey Toast, it was extremely filling still so would be suitable for sharing between 2 people.

I literally couldn't recommend this place more if I tried. I was greeted by such friendly and attentive staff who were constantly checking that I was okay, enjoying the food or if I required any assistance. We were also offered regular top ups of their mint infused water which I loved as a lot of restaurants can be quite stingy when it comes to water (even with it only coming from the tap, strangely).

The decor was beautiful and of course, the food and drinks were insane!

I will be returning very soon and already cannot wait.
