Mother's Day 2017

Hi guys,

I had the cutest day on Sunday for Mother's Day. Anyone who knows me will know how close I am with my Mum so I wanted to plan a nice day to treat her.

AFTERNOON TEA

Like most women, my Mum loves afternoon tea so this was the best pick.

We went to Browns in Manchester where the champagne afternoon tea was £18.95 per person.

The afternoon tea consisted of:

Two mini scones each
Four mini cakes each
Three brioche sandwiches each
Glass of champagne each
Unlimited tea and coffee

Although I did really enjoy the afternoon tea, I have to say that it wasn't as nice as some of the other afternoon teas I've had recently.

With other afternoon teas I have found them very filling and have been unable to finish them but this was just a nice amount. This is the perfect place to go if you don't want to feel too full afterwards but if you'd rather indulge and eat quite a lot, this is not the place for you!

I'm definitely one for old buildings so the decor in Browns was right up my street. I loved the high, detailed ceilings and there were a lot of marble pillars surrounding the building which definitely gave a touch of class.

I had a nosey at the normal Browns menu and it looked amazing so I will definitely be returning here.

COCKTAILS

I hadn't initially thought about going for drinks afterwards as I thought we could just take our time eating our afternoon tea like we usually have done. However, on the way we passed a bar called Grand Pacific which I have heard amazing things about so I had to try it.

The decor was absolutely insane - I have to admit I haven't been anywhere like it. I am obsessed!

When you walk in there is a spiral staircase up to the bar which I loved. This was the main light above the stairs which I absolutely loved. This is definitely one of the main features.

I loved all of the plants and pineapple decor - this is definitely one of the best bars I've been to in Manchester!

I had a Rose & Lychee Martini which was amazing - I loved the little rose petal detail too!

Overall we had such a lovely day and both Browns and Grand Pacific were the perfect spots for a cute Mother's Day celebration!

I hope you've enjoyed reading and if you visit either place, I hope you love them as much I do!

As always, I would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me by email (xthelifeofm@outlook.com) or on Instagram (@xthelifeofm).
