Hi guys,
I have had the busiest (but best) weekend
celebrating my 21st birthday! I have been absolutely spoilt rotten by all of my amazing family and friends and I am overwhelmed by all of the birthday love this weekend!
I thought that I would share my amazing weekend with you all, including details of what I did, where I went and where I bought everything from. I apologise in advance for the long post!!
PART 1
FRIDAY
On Friday night I went for an amazing meal
with the family at Sapporo Tappenyaki in Manchester.

Bag: Topshop
Firstly, if you've never
been before, you have to go! Not only is the food incredible but you are provided with entertainment throughout the night by your own personal chef. Each table has an oven connected and the chef cooks all of the
food in front of you, hence the word ‘tappenyaki’ in the name!
Strangely, on my birthday celebrations here I had the exact same
chef as we had at my cousin’s 18th (and he remembered us) which made
the whole experience even better - especially as his name is ‘San the Man’!
San the Man himself!
Probably the funniest part of the evening is all attempting to catch sautéed potatoes
in your mouth – I seem to have lost my touch as it awkwardly took me 7 whole
attempts second time round!!
The entertainment alone makes the restaurant unique and different
but the food also makes Sapporo stand out from its competitors. There is a wide
variety of food available, with many set menus to choose from. Click here to
view the available menus!
We had the Emperor menu as I am obsessed with lobster (and all
things meat/fish) but you are able to have different menus between the group.
PART 2
SATURDAY
On Saturday I went to Chester Races with 7 of my girls! It was the Echo Falls Ladies Day and in true Ladies Day spirit, I searched for the perfect dress to wear. I looked on every website possible and I couldn't find a dress I loved but sure enough, one day as I was scrolling through Facebook I came across a fab boutique in Wigan that specially makes dresses from scratch.
I got in touch with The Dressing Room Boutique, sent through my measurements and the dress I liked and in no time it was ready! I loved that I could go for a dress fitting as it made the dress feel extra special, especially as it was for my 21st birthday!
I loved my dress so much! The fabric and colour were perfect for Ladies Day and made me feel lovely on my birthday day out.
The detail on my dress was probably my favourite thing about it. The pearls were a perfect touch and complimented the colour amazingly! The loophole back and pretty fastening were also beautiful and gave the dress a touch of elegance (even more so than before).
To view more of their amazing designs, visit their website: www.thedressingroomwigan.co.uk or follow them on Facebook: The Dressing Room Wigan.
I had my hair and make-up done at Make-up Mobile to You where I have been going for over a year now. They did a perfect job as always and made my morning a LOT less stressful!
Of course, an outfit is not complete without the perfect accessories!
I searched everywhere for the perfect clutch bag and believe it or not, this beauty is from eBay! It was an absolute bargain (only £12!!) and I received so many compliments!
I am still so in love with my fascinator - the pearl detail made it perfect for my outfit. This was a gift a while back from a relative but I still love it to this day.
On the day, we were in the Tatterstalls stand and I would definitely recommend paying that little bit more to be in this section of the racecourse. It gave you access to a covered section but also to a large marquee, several bars and food stalls and of course, many different betting stands!
If I could give any advice it would be to wear comfortable shoes or to bring some flat shoes with you. It is a very long day on your feet and although they were selling flip flops on the day for Ladies Day, it may not always be the case. Also, if you are looking to go for some food afterwards I would definitely pre-book in advance (rookie error on my part) or even go out somewhere nearer home as the races finish around 6pm, giving you plenty of time to get home and go out!
Overall I had a great day celebrating my birthday at the races with some of my amazing friends! Here's a few photos taken on the day..
PART 3
SUNDAY
Sunday was my actual birthday - I still can't believe I am finally 21! I spent this day with family and close family friends at my house. My family did an amazing spread filled with cake, sandwiches, chilli and lots of other bites!
Everyone knows that the best part of a birthday is the fabulous cake!! I can safely say that my birthday cake was absolutely incredible and is the best cake I have ever had!
